I use Fetch daily (and have for almost 200 dawg years) and am wondering about future support for Mojave and Catalina.

Fetch is one of the few 32 bit apps remaining on my MacBook Pro.

We've had this conversation over the last 9 or so months. Is there a plan in the next month or so to move to 64 bit?

I'd hate to have to go with something else, but our hands are tied with no support for 32 bit apps anymore.

    Hi,

I don't have a Catalina-compatible version of Fetch to release yet. I'm working on Fetch 5.8, which will run on Catalina. If you'd like to test early releases of Fetch 5.8 you can sign up at

    https://mailchi.mp/d007f56b91b3/fetch64beta

and I'll be in touch when there's something to test.

    Thanks,

I just got myself a new Mac with Mojave. Bought a new copy of Fetch since I have used Fetch for many, many years - but received a message that the version I payed for was not compatible with my OS and that there was no update available.

I feel a bit cheated having payed for it. Can I hope for an updated version shortly?

    Hi,

Fetch 5.7.7 is compatible with Mojave, you'll just see that message every 30 days. As I noted above, I'm working on an update that will work on the next macOS release, Catalina.

If you'd like to cancel your purchase, please contact me at http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/feedback

    Thanks,

Hey Jim. Any word on when that update might be ready? Even if you don't have a release date yet, just a general range like "before Catalina goes live" or "before the end of the year" would be helpful.

Thanks, and I love the program! Best piece of software I've ever bought. :)

    Hi Alexander,

    That's very nice to hear!

I am hoping to have a test release for people who've signed up at https://mailchi.mp/d007f56b91b3/fetch64beta by the end of this month. It will be missing some features, and have bugs, but it should be useable for most people.

    Thanks,

Catalina has more major new features than we’ve seen in past macOS upgrades. There are a few new apps, and several other apps with major new features and UI revisions. Performance has been improved and usability has been increased. Here’s a quick list of some of the new features and apps.

The System requirements for macOS 10.15 Catalina are very similar to Mojave, with a couple of exceptions. Mojave supported mid-2010 or mid-2012 Mac Pro models with Metal-capable graphics processor, unfortunately, Catalina won't support those older Mac Pros.
