    I have a MAc OS X 10.5.6. I have been unable to connect to my ftp with Fetch. It is Fetch 5.3. It gives me an error of being timed out. I tried connecting to your ftp.softworks.com
    and it worked. What can I check to resolve this problem?
    The Processor on my Mac is a 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon. We have four other Macs that have no problems connecting but they are not Intel Processors. Could this be a problem?

    Hi,

    If I understand correctly, you have one Mac that cannot connect to this particular server, but 4 other Macs that can connect to the very same server, is that correct?

    And could you please do the following?

    * Quit Fetch.
    * Open Fetch again.
    * Try to connect to your server.
    * After you get an error, go to the Window menu, and choose Fetch Transcript.
    * Copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message.

    We'll take a look and see if we have any suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Yes, that is correct. Here is the transcript.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the transcript.

    Are the Macs that can connect in the same room as the one that won't? That is, are they likely to be using the same part of your network to connect?

    Would it be possible to see the transcript from one of the Macs that can connect successfully for comparison?

    And no, the fact that the problem Mac has an Intel processor is almost not certainly the cause of the problem.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Oh, also, which version of Mac OS X are the other Macs running?

    Thanks,

    Yes, they all connect to the same switch. We unhooked one that worked to my Mac and it still didn't connect. The other Macs are a lesser version but we just upgraded one to the same OS as mine and it"s connection is fine. Here is the transcript from the computer that has the same OS.

    Hello Scott,
    Thanks for your trouble. We got it to work. We changed the IP connection from DHCP to a manual IP address. It works great now.
    Thanks,
    Sam
