The server is returning that message (Fetch is just passing it along), and I don't see any good explanation for it. So I think you will have to contact the server administrator and show her or him the transcript. It could be that the server configuration was inadvertently broken.

I downloaded Fetch today and it will not let me connect. It says that the wrong user name format was entered. I have used Fetch before with all the same info. Here is what the transcript says
Fetch 4.0.3 System 0x1028 Expires 11/16/2004 TR

500 Wrong user name format was entered. For more information, press help button of your control panel.
Any suggestions?
