Yes or no question…how about a yes or no answer (3 posts)

    When I update Fetch, and I restart…I see a box that says…
"Fetch has been updated. Do you want to allow the new version to access the same keychain items (such as passwords) as the previous version?

ISN'T THAT A YES OR NO QUESTION?

Why, then, do I have the options of "Don't Change" and "Change All"? All I want is to keep things the same. Wouldn't boxes of "Yes" and "No" be easier to understand?

    Hi,

Yes, it would. We agree with you completely. Unfortunately, that dialog is written by Apple and displayed by Mac OS X, not us; we'd change it if we could. We've sent them feedback, and while they improved the wording slightly in Mac OS X 10.5, it's still rather confusing.

The correct answer is "Change All."

We have made changes to Fetch to minimize the number of users who will be asked that question; but you will still see it if you're on Mac OS X 10.4 or upgrading from certain older Fetch versions due to limitations. But if you're on Mac OS X 10.5 or later, you shouldn't be asked that question the next time you upgrade Fetch.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire
