I cannot connect to my home computer from work to upload files. The message I get is...."the connection was refused by the server"
I connect to the internet by cable.
I have set the sharing control panel to read and write
I can connect through the browser to download files from my computer at home when I am at work by typing in the assigned IP address (IP address did not change)but have no way to upload. Has anyone encountered this problem? and is there a solution? Should I be configuring something somewhere in my control panels to allow my computer to acept uploads?

Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you get this error? It's listed in the Window menu.

    Thanks,

    Yes, here it is
    "System Version = 0x860
    Connecting to 24.156.87.42 port 21 (10/30/01 11:31:51 PM)"
Am I to assume that the coorect port needs to be assigned in order for me to connect?

For this to work your home computer would need to be running an FTP server, such as NetPresenz (www.netpresenz.com) or Rumpus (www.maxum.com) or the server built into Mac OS X (see the Sharing panel in System Preferences). You would have to know your home computer's current IP address, but you probably would not have to specify a port number.
