Download from ADC? (5 posts)

Can I use Fetch 5.3 to download from ADC?
    What is the ftp server?

I have tried twice to download the 6GB Snow Leopard alpha using Safari but it was corrupt in both cases. The byte sizes were slightly different.
Software Update never fails on my computer, if that is relevant.

    TIA,

    Jan E.

    Hi Jan,

As far as I know, there isn't a way to download ADC stuff by FTP any more, so no, I don't think you can use Fetch to download from the ADC site.

I'd suggest contacting ADC about the corrupt downloads. (You could try downloading with Firefox instead, but given the size of the download, you might want to see about getting assistance first.)

    Good luck,

I have contacted ADC and they said "corrupt downloads are a sad reality".
I think I'll wait until the next alpha or beta and try again. Maybe I'll try the download from my older computer with Tiger on it.

    Hi Jan,

Sorry to hear ADC wasn't more helpful. I haven't tried downloading a large file from ADC in some time, so I don't have any comparative experience to offer.

    Best,
