IWeb buttons disabled... (6 posts)

I have uploaded IWeb web pages to my server

However, after I play a video on one page - or run a slideshow on another, the buttons to connect with the other pages are disabled

    Any way to correct this?

    Thanks

    Hi,

That's not a problem we have heard of before.

If you could tell us the address to your webpage, we will take a look and see if we have any suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Hi Jim,

Here's what I'm seeing when I look at your website:

When you're on the Gallery page, the "Contact" and "Schedule" buttons don't work, regardless of whether you've shown the slideshow or not.

When you're on the Bio page, none of the buttons work unless you click on the very top of the letters of them.

I actually don't see a problem with the buttons on the Video page, regardless of whether you've played the video or not.

Does this match what you're seeing?

The problem with the buttons on the Gallery page appears to be that the top of the scissors graphics - even though it's transparent - is "in front of" the Contact and and Schedule buttons, so when you try to click on them, you're really clicking on the scissors graphic. (You can see this if you click, hold down, and drag the scissors on the gallery page - you'll see an outline of the rectangle of the scissors graphic, and it's over the two buttons.)

What you need to do is trim the transparent part of the scissors graphic, or move it so that it doesn't sit on top of the buttons. In iWeb, you can see the boundaries of a graphic by clicking on the graphic, and then looking at the white boxes that show the corners and edge of the graphic. Move it or resize it until the outline, as shown by the white boxes, doesn't cover the buttons.

Likewise, on the Bio page, the transparent part of the notebook graphic is sitting over most of the buttons, so that only the top part of them can be clicked on.

I'm not sure what might be the problem on the video page, because as I said, it looks okay to me. If you're still seeing a problem there, what web browser are you using, and which version of Mac OS X?

Let us know if this helps or not.

    Thanks,

    Hi Jim,

I am using the Safari browser and Mac O.S. 10.4.10

    That's what I'm using too.

Please let me know if what I posted above matches what you're seeing, and if my advice helps, or if you are experiencing additional problems.

    Thanks,
