The only way I can think of doing that would require giving that user an account on your server. Then you could set up a directory and give the user's account write access.
I would recommend talking to your hosting provider (if it isn't your own personal server).

situation: i would like to be able to allow someone (he and he alone) to upload files into one of the directories i've set up in the FTP folder on my server. i would also like to restrict this person's access to this directory only. and then ultimately i would like everyone to have access to these files.
can someone expain to me a way i can set this up? any effort in these regards are greatly appreciated.
