I'm trying to upload a Quicktime file to a client of mine.

I've set up his ftp site without a problem, and can upload the file as well.

However, when he tries to download it (he's clicking and dragging from Finder; he doesn't have Fetch), the file never fully transfers and Finder has to be restarted.

He's able to access the ftp site, see the file, but it simply won't download.

    Please help!

    Hi,

Unfortunately, the Finder is a poor and not very reliable FTP client.

The download could be being interrupted by bugs in the Finder's FTP client; it also could be that his network is causing the connection to be interrupted during the lengthy download. The Finder has no facility to resume an interrupted download.

I recommend that your client use Fetch or another FTP client program instead of the Finder. If a download is interrupted in Fetch, Fetch includes a resume download feature that your client could use to finish the download without having to start over at the beginning again. Other FTP clients probably have a similar feature.

    Thanks,
