I am having trouble with uploading. I have DSL for the first time and trying to send photos (1200 hi-res 8MB files). All the photographers I know says it should take over night or maybe 10-12 hours. It takes 5 days! Is it an issue of the upload speed of my computer? What speed do you recommend? 3358 Kbps download/ 863 Kbps upload is what I have now.

    Hi,

Fetch uploads files as fast as it can.

The speed at which Fetch can upload is limited by two factors - the upload speed of your Internet connection, and the server that is receiving the files. Even if your Internet upload speed is fast, your uploads may be slowed down if the receiving server is accepting files slowly.

However, DSL upload speeds are often not very fast, and often not as fast as the number they promise in their advertising. When you signed up for your DSL, what was the maximum upload speed they promised? (I'm not sure where the 863 Kbps figure came from?)

Five days does sound like a long time, but on the other hand, 1200 8MB files is quite a bit of data, too. Without knowing more about your situation, it's hard to say where the problem lies.

    Thanks,
