Where does Fetch download files with Quick Look

I used Quick Look to view a file that it turns out is a PHP backdoor trojan. It was on a Linux server.

I didn't want to download it. Now I see that Quick Look downloads the file. It says Fetch remembers the file.

Where is this file stored? I need to locate it and delete it ASAP.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

To find those files, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu in the Finder and enter:

    ~/Library/Caches/Cleanup at Startup/com.fetchsoftworks.Fetch

    Then click the Go button.

Thank you for your quick response.

    There's nothing in Caches/Cleanup st Startup/com.fetchsoftworks.Fetch

But I did find a file named Fetch Cache in com.fetchsoftworks.Fetch. Can I delete this file?

    Jim,

Is a Quick Look download likely to infect my Mac if it's a trojan file?

    Thanks

You can delete Fetch Cache. A QuickLook download is unlikely to infect your Mac. Fetch does not execute the contents of the file.

I would recommend restarting your Mac and emptying your trash; that should ensure that the file is deleted.

    Thanks,
