I've been a Fetch user for many years. If you need Beta testers for 64 bit version, I'll be glad to help!

Thank you all for offering to beta-test 64-bit Fetch. I have set up a landing page where you can subscribe to the beta-test list for Fetch 5.8 (the 64-bit version):

    https://mailchi.mp/d007f56b91b3/fetch64beta

If you have a Mac running 10.13 or later and are willing to run beta-quality software and report the problems you encounter, please go to that page and sign up.

    Thanks!

I rely on Fetch to keep the NORTH BURNS CEMETERY web site updated and will need to update to MacBook Catalina soon which requires 64bit applications.
Please include me in your update / beta list.
    Thanks

    Jim

Fetch and 64 bit compatibility. I note that you stated a year or so ago that you were working on getting Fetch to work with the 64 bit OS, for example, Catalina.

I pray to God that you have been successful.

I absolutely do not mind at all paying you a reasonable one-time Fee for the upgrade. I am sure Transmit is great, but they want an annual subscription which I abhor on general grounds.

As the previous writer stated, please include me on any Testing List. With this offer, I assure you I am not trying to circumvent any one-time Upgrade Fee I just mentioned.

As a matter of fact, I just went to your Web Page for adding my email to your Testing List.

    Thanks for listening, Jim

    Hi John,

There will be no upgrade fee to go from Fetch 5.5 or later to Fetch 5.8, the 64-bit release. Basically, if you've purchased a Fetch license since 2009 you should be all set.

    Thanks,

    Jim

I just noticed this - 5.7 allowed me to Copy in the Finder what I wished to upload and then Paste.

    Not with 5.8

Hi Jim question I have Fetch 5.7.7 (5h1795) which I love, is the upgrade to the 64 bit version now out and stable enough to install on my new 2018 Mac mini?
    Thanks in advance

The 64 bit version is working perfectly for me, but it is in demo mode. How do I transfer the license that my university has for Fetch to the 64 bit update?

I just downloaded the beta and it seems to be working fine but I can't drag or copy it to my Applications folder. I get an error code. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

    Edited 4 years ago #

Rich: To enter a serial number click the Enter Serial Number button after you open Fetch (or choose Enter Serial Number from the Fetch menu). If that doesn't work please contact https://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/feedback .

Rose: What error code are you getting?

    Thanks,

Actually I just restarted the computer and it allowed me to drag the app from my desktop to the Applications folder - i think it was a 5038 error but not positive!

    Sorry!

hi Jim when do you think that the new 64 bit vrersion will be stable enough to use so I can upgrade it with no problems to my 2018 mac mini running Mojave? thanks Mark R.

Jim, I don't have a serial number anymore, the old version of Fetch won't open in Catalina so I can't find a serial number.

    Posted 4 years ago #

  • Rich Member

Found the serial number by downloading old version of Fetch from my university website. It worked and beta no longer asks for payment. It is working well in Catalina. Thanks. Rich

I'm so glad you built a 64-bit version of Fetch. I've used Fetch for 22 years, and hated having to change. I've never liked any other FTP programs I've tried as well as Fetch. It's clean, simple, takes up very little screen space, fast, and flexible for all kinds of quick and easy things. Thank you, Jim, for doing this for us!!!!!

    Fetch 5.8b14
Attempting to copy all files from the server back to a local directory fails to copy the *.htm files.
All other files were copied without errors.
Drag a single file appears normal with a message "Transfer of index.htm complete.
    But, no file was copied...
Drag the same file from local folder to the server was successful.
    I'm running macOS Mojave 10.14.6
