beginners luck (2 posts)

    I am trying to make a new connection
    and I put my server in and my user Id which I know correct because I just got it from the server and it tell me that that user id is 'unknown'?
    reading the help section hasn't guided me anywhere? Is this a server issue or user?
    any assistance and advice appreciated.

    You can get that error if there's a problem with the contents of any of the Host, User ID or Password fields. You could double-check those with the server administrator, or post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window (it's listed in the Window menu).
