The times in the file list are what the server sends Fetch. The FTP standard does not say what time zone servers should use, but most servers use either GMT or their local time zone. It sounds like this server is either on the other side of the prime meridian from you, or has its own time zone set incorrectly.

Well, when I telnet to the server, the times are displayed as correct localtime. I guess it's the ftp server that's adjusting the times. I know my localtime is configured correctly.
Thanks.

Solved!
Turns out the FTP server software has its own configuration file which I was able to edit and take care of it.
Thanks.

The Date column in the display shows incorrect time. The time is off by the difference between GMT and local time EXCEPT IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. The time shows 5 hours later than the actual time and the time-stamped on the files on the ftp server.
I looked in preferences but was unable to note anywhere I might change this. Is there somewhere/how else to do this?
Thanks.
