    FETCH 5.2.1 CRASHES ON MAC INTEL OS X 10.4.7

    it tries to connect to the server, it connects successfully, says getting file list, and then it crashes. it's like it can't handle it for some reason.

    i've deleted the prefs several times, restarted and all that. what next?

    Hi,

    We're sorry to hear you're having problems with Fetch.

    Some Intel Macintoshes, in particular Mac Pros, shipped with a version of Mac OS X 10.4.7 that causes Fetch to crash due to a bug in Mac OS X. What kind of Mac are you using?

    The solution is to update to the latest version of Mac OS X, version 10.4.10, which contains a fix for the bug.

    To do this, go to the blue Apple menu and choose "Software Update" and apply all the software updates that it finds.

    Please let us know if this does not solve the problem, or if you have any concerns.

    Thanks,

    I upgraded to OS X 10.4.10 and I Fetch will not open - keeps quitting unexpectedly when I open the program.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi lfindley,

    Sorry you're having troubles. Try doing the following:

    * Choose "Home" from the Go menu in the Finder
    * Open the Library folder
    * Open the Preferences folder
    * Find the Fetch Prefs, Fetch Cache, and com.fetchsoftworks.Fetch.plist files, and move them to the Desktop.

    Then try to run Fetch. Does that fix the problem? If so, please email the three files you moved to the Desktop to us at:

    bugs at fetchsoftworks dot com

    so that we can figure out why they make Fetch crash.

    If that does not fix the problem, let us know and we'll investigate further.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire
