Hi,
Sorry you're having troubles. Try doing the following:
* Choose "Home" from the Go menu in the Finder
* Open the Library folder
* Open the Preferences folder
* Find the Fetch Prefs, Fetch Cache, and com.fetchsoftworks.Fetch.plist files, and move them to the Desktop.Then try to run Fetch. Does that fix the problem? If so, please email the three files you moved to the Desktop to us at:
bugs at fetchsoftworks dot com
so that we can figure out why they make Fetch crash.
If that does not fix the problem, let us know and we'll investigate further.
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Well I gave it a try and unfortunately the program still crashes which is a bummer because its such a great program to have! I sent you the files requested and I hope something can be found out from them.
Thanks,

BINGO! Down loading 5.1b2 seemed to work. I'm able to log onto my ftp account without any problems. Here's crossing all fingers and thanks for your swift attention!!

Looks like I need V5.1b2 too. I've tried all the tips you suggested to bbeck and Fetch keeps crashing. I'm on a new MacPro.
Can you please email me V5.1b2 to try.

Hi Randy,
Fetch 5.1b2 has been superseded by Fetch 5.1 final, so if you have Fetch 5.1, you have the latest.
Unfortunately, your problem is caused by a bug in the Mc Pro. The Mac Pros shipped with a bug that causes Fetch to crash. Apple is aware of the problem and is working on a fix that will be released in a forthcoming software update, but we're not sure when it will be available.
In the meantime, the workaround is to download and use Fetch 5.0.5, which will works fine on the Mac Pros. You can download Fetch 5.0.5 from here: http://www.fetchsoftworks.com/downloads.html
We apologize for the inconvenince. Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Hi Randy,
Just to let you know - Apple has released Mac OS X 10.4.8, which fixes the Fetch 5.1 crashes on Mac Pros. You can get Mac OS X 10.4.8 by choosing Software Update from the Apple menu.
We have also released Fetch 5.1.1, which fixes a widget crash on the Mac Pros. You can download it from http://fetchsoftworks.com.
Thanks,

I just started have a weird problem. I recently updated from fetch 4.0.3 to 5. Lately when I tried to connect to the server, fetch goes through 'getting files' fromn the server and then it crashes. I've tried 4.0.3 again which never had this problem and it crashed too. I usually get, 'Do you want to send a bug report to Apple' dialog box. However, when I use the client on Dreamweaver there is no connection issues. I've tried re-installing fetch, repairing permissions and trashing the pref file but still get the same problem. Any ideas??
