Hi Carole,
You should give the Fetch Mirror command a try.
It lets you associate a folder on your Macintosh (the one with the files you're trying to upload) with a directory on the server, and then only transfers new or changed files between them.
See the Mirroring a local folder to a remote folder help topic in Fetch Help (or click on the link) for more information.
That help topic discusses using the Mirror command to upload from your Mac to the server, but the setup for doing the reverse is almost exactly the same, except you want to select the bottom arrow in the Mirror window to do a remote to local mirror instead.
Please let us know if you have more questions.
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Hi Carole,
There's no hurry. We apologize for the bogus notifications that you received yesterday/last night - they were not meant as reminders or pesters to you!
Someone was attempted to post spam to the message board, resulting in erroneous notifications about message board posts; we have dealt with the outbreak.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Several months ago I made a backup of a data directory (which has lots of directories)
Now I would like to update the backup that I made - but I am not sure which directories have new files.
Is there a way that I could just bring down the new files? or do I have to just start all over with a new backup?
Carole
