html files showing as junk using Fetch 5.7.3 Mac 10.8.4 (3 posts)

  After upgade to Fetch 5.7.3 and Mac 10.8.4, any new or edited .htm or .html files I upload via ftp show online as unrecognizable junk characters. I test the files on a browser before I upload them via fetch and they view correctly.
  (.pdf files transfer and view fine). Any clues?

  I am creating or saving-as the .html/.htm files with MSWord 14.3.6 (Office 2011).

  More digging reveals it's an encoding preferences in MS Word. When I bring up old files to revise, it's defaulted to UNICODE. New files created seem to work with WESTERN EUROPEAN Macintosh. So I when saving-as old files, I will change the encoding option.

  Problem Solved. (I think)
