    When I try to log in to ftp site, I get password error message. I retype the destination and user id and the password fills in. I hit return and get on. What am I doing wrong that requires me to make two attempts each time??? Thanks

    Do you type the password the first time, or is it filled in for you? It sounds like the password is being pulled from the Keychain the second time, and that password is correct.

    Could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents after you succeed in logging in? That may offer more information.

    It appears that although I fill in all the blanks prior to the first attempt, the word anonymous is in the USER blank and the PASS blank is empty. I do not fill in the password blank the second time, it fills in **** when i select it.

    530 Login incorrect.

    I feel like an idiot. My internet provider gave me their ftp site as ftp://ftp.geusnet.com.
    I have been using this and not getting on until the second try. Just now I goofed and typed only ftp.geusnet.com.
    It connected first try without a hitch. I am sorry I wasted your time. I do appreciate your help.

    I am sorry I have been wasting your time. I was given ftp://ftp.geusnet.com as the site address and that has caused the problem.
    I accidently typed ftp.geusnet.com and logged on the first attempt.
    I do appreciate your help.
