I've been having issues running Fetch 4.x. When I try to log into a site I manage, this is the response I get:

Server Response: Can't open data connection

Using 3.0.3 doesn't present any problems, though. Is there something not set up correctly?

    Thanks...

The first thing I'd try is changing the setting of the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" checkbox in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences. Choose "Preferences..." from the Customize menu in Fetch and click on the Firewall tab to see that checkbox.

    Thanks,

The first thing I checked. I can log onto most sites with Fetch 4.x with no issue, but on some, only with 3.x.

Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window from Fetch 4.0.3 and 3.0.3 for a site that you can only access with 3.0.3? That should clarify what's going wrong.

    Thanks,

Apparently Fetch 3 is not using passive mode (PASV), while Fetch 4 is. Could you try unchecking "Use Passive Mode Transfers (PASV)" in the Firewall section of Fetch 4's Preferences window, and post that transcript if it doesn't work?

    Thanks,

    Thanks-
It's done the trick, for now at least. I'll be trying it extensively over the next few days!
