More trouble w/ hidden files on an Apache server (13 posts)

    Hello,
    I tried selecting the option under preferences - misc. but it didn't make a difference. My files are on an Apache server, will I need to do something else instead to be able to see these files?

    I would choose "Send LIST -al to UNIX Servers" from the Obscure Options pop-up menu in the Misc. section of Preferences. Does that help?

    No,
    Unfortunately that is the one that I was referring too. Those hidden files are driving me nuts, I need to modify .htaccess but it seems like no matter what ftp software I use, I cannot see them.

    Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after choosing "View File List" from the Remote menu?

    What are the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you choose "View File List"? To open Fetch Transcript, choose it from the Windows menu.

    .htaccess is showing up in the transcript, so Fetch should be displaying it in the file list unless you have "Omit file names beginning with a period" checked in the Misc. section of Preferences. Is it showing up?

    i have the same problem. in my cgi-bin dir o got the htacccess file shows up on the viewlist. (My misc. pref. are checked and ok)

    In my httpdocs dir it shows me the . and .. folders but no .htaccess files.

    soulburn: Are you sure you have an .htaccess file in your httpdocs folder? If dot files are showing up in cgi-bin then I'd expect them to show up everywhere.

    In some weird way after running the script and a few restarts now all the .htaccess files are showing.?

    I'm running Fetch 4.0.1, and I don't have the pop-up menu that you describe. I'm having the same problem with hidden files. (And it's .htaccess that I need to see.) Help!

    You should download Fetch 4.0.3 from http://fetchsoftworks.com . It will accept the same serial number as 4.0.1, so it's a free upgrade.
