Right now my website is on my home computer. I use Fetch and iWeb. I would like to transfer the website to my work computer, and I am moving it out of iWeb into Dreamweaver. What is the best way to transfer Fetch? Do I need to download a new copy? I want to decrease the likelihood of my website going down during this transition.

    Hi Sandy,

You can install the Fetch application on your work computer by downloading a new copy of Fetch to your work computer, and then re-entering your serial number into that copy of Fetch.

You can download Fetch from http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/download/ .

If you aren't sure of your Fetch serial number, you can email us at serial@fetchsoftworks.com and we'll help you out.

Then you can enter the same connection information into Fetch on the work computer to connect to your server where your files are.

Transferring the website files is a different matter. It is not as simple as just downloading the files out of Fetch to the new computer, because iWeb cannot re-import files that have been published to a server; iWeb stores its copies of the website in a special iWeb-only file, and that is the file you will need to move between computers. You should consult Apple for assistance with that.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
