need to uncheck - and then check PASV during upload (2 posts)

    Hi;

    I have been using Fetch for a couple of years. Usually, I need to check PASV to upload a file. Recently, though, I need to 'uncheck' PASV to log onto a particular server. Then, I have stumbled upon 'checking' PASV during the file transfer to get a complete upload.

    What seems to be happening, otherwise, is the file uploads, but uploads almost everything - except for a few mb s. For example - a 22.xx mb file uploads only 16.xx mb s. I always .sitx the file and drop it onto the Fetch window.

    On larger files and before I did the uncheck/check dance... I have split them in two because the connection continuously stalls only a few mbs from the file size. Still, the connection stalled right near the end.

    Using Fetch version 5.1 on Mac OSX 10.4.6

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

    Checking and unchecking the PASV checkbox after you've connected shouldn't make any difference to how your transfers behave; it only applies when you are first making a connection and changes do not take place until you make a new connection.

    It sounds like this may be a problem with that particular server.

    We'd suggest you try the resume upload feature of Fetch 5, which if your server supports it, allows you to just finish uploading the last few MB of the files that didn't upload before, instead of re-uploading the entire thing.

    For instructions about using it, see the resuming uploads topic in Fetch Help, or just click the link here.

    Thanks,
