Hi,
Sorry about the error.
Could you please do the following to help us figure out what's going on?
We'd like to see a copy of your system.log, which contains information about what caused that error.
To find the system.log file, choose "Go to Folder..." from the Go menu in the Finder and enter "/var/log" (without the quotes).
Then, please email the system.log file you'll find in that folder to bugs at fetchsoftworks.com .
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

I forget about this post, I'm getting the error again when I try to open the preferences (uploading works fine, I don't remember how or why it got fixed). I will however mail you my system log file for this new error.
The wording reads only slightly differently:
Assertion (this->is_initialized()) failed in "optional.hpp", function "!!pt", line 504

I'm having the same problem with opening preferences and have been since 5.6 and snow leopard. I'm about ready to do a complete reinstall of the OS over this and another problem, but thought I'd check here to see if there's a solution. The error I get when I try to open preferences is:
Assertion (this->is_initialized()) failed in "../../Libraries/boost/boost/optional/optional.hpp" function "typename boost::optional_detail::optional_base<T>::pointer_type boost::optional<T>::operator->() {with T=Utilities::Window]", line 532
Any thoughts?

Hi,
I'd like to take a look at your Fetch.log file to see if I can figure out why this is happening. To find Fetch.log:
1) Choose Go to Folder… from the Go menu in the Finder
2) Enter:~/Library/com.fetchsoftworks.Fetch/Logs
and click Go
If you can send that to bugs@fetchsoftworks.com I'll take a look and see what I can figure out.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

I sometimes get this error when attempting to upload:
The action could not be completed because an error has occurred.
Assertion (this->is_initialized()) failed in "optional.hpp", function "get", line 498
I never saw this before, if I keep retrying it eventually does work though.
