    Hi.

I am uploading a large file to an FTP server using fetch (5GB) and it is uploading at around 90 kbps. I have a very good internet connection and having done a test on speedtest.net and I am being told my upload speed is 64 mbps. I understand that the speed may also be dependent on the server you are uploading to but I was hoping for much faster than 90 kbps as at that rate the file will take 16 hours to upload.

Please can you advise as to why it is so slow.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

First of all, I should note that Fetch reports speeds in bytes, while speedtest.net (and similar sites) reports speeds in bits. So to make a comparison you want to multiply the Fetch number by 8 (since there are 8 bits in a byte).

That said, there's still a huge (90x) difference between 720kbps and 64mbps. Fetch tries to upload files as fast as the server will accept them, so that's where I'd look next.

    Thanks,
