Stalling (3 posts)

    Hi all!

I am running Fetch 5.0.4 on a PowerMac G4 with Panther (and all current updates).

I have a stalling problem when I attempt to upload files. It doesn't seem to matter which ftp site I'm uploading to - the same timeout occurs.

I've tried selecting and deselecting passive mode, turning off my firewall but to no avail. There is one particular file I've been trying to upload since yesterday and it keeps stalling at 25.1mbs. It is only a 36mb file.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!
    Belly.

    Hi,

The first thing to check is to make sure you have room in your account(s) to upload that large of a file - a file that always stalls at the same place usually indicates an out of space problem on the server. If you can, delete a different large file on the server and see if that helps.

If you are sure that isn't the problem, you can try Fetch's resume upload feature to try to finish uploading the file; however not all servers support this feature. For instructions on resuming uploads in Fetch 5, see the Resuming uploads topic in Fetch Help.

If that doesn't work, after the upload stalls, choose Fetch Transcript from the Window menu, copy the contents of the transcript window, and paste them here. We'll take a look and try to figure out what's going on.

    Thanks,

    Hi Scott.

Thanks so much! I checked and it was, indeed, as space issue on the server. After deleting some files, I was able to upload.

    Thanks again!!!
