If the server wont support passive mode you should uncheck the "Use Passive mode transfers (PASV)" box. If that does not work please post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window (it's listed in the Window menu).
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

You say that you are running 9.2 but your transcript shows you running 10.1 -- is that right?
Another option (on 10.1) is to uncheck "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)", and disable all but one of the network interfaces in the Network pane of System Preferences. Let me know if that does not work.

Yeah I was using 10.1 but it won't work in 9.2 either.
But I can connect to the server and get a listing of all directories if I am using the built in ftp from within the terminal.
So I'm thinking it has something to do with fetch.
I have tried lots of combinations withing fetch but I'm not sure which things you thing I should change withing the network preferences?
Thanks for the help :)
