Hi TL,
The first thing to do is determine if this is a problem with downloading from that particular server, or from all servers.
To test this, you can try connecting to our server, and try download a copy of Fetch from it, and see how long it takes. Here's what to do:
Connect to our server using the following information:
Hostname: ftp.fetchsoftworks.com
Username: (leave empty)
Password: (leave empty)Download the Fetch_5.6.dmg file. It should download within 5 minutes on most reasonable Internet connections. If it looks like it's going to take longer than 10 minutes to download, you can stop the transfer (but make a note of how much of the file got downloaded).
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,

Hey, thanks for the reply.
I tried downloading the Fetch DMG and it was taking over 10 minutes so I cancelled it. It hardly downloaded any of the file but i noticed it was downloading at around 30KB/s.
In terms of what my situation is work wise, when I upload to the server I work with it is uploading at around 400-600KB/s and downloading at around 20KB/s. This is a strange difference.
Also, an important thing to note is that in my previous office I have been working with this same server for years with no problems downloading or uploading (at around 100-150KB/s).
So, where do I go from here?
Thanks for all your help.

Hi,
It sounds like something about your new office's network is interfering with FTP downloads, or possibly downloads in general.
Have you tried downloading files with a web browser? Is that slow or fast? (If you need a file to test, you can go to http://fetchsoftworks.com and click the download link to try downloading Fetch via the web.)
Are you in a home office, where it's just you and your computer? Or are there other people with computers in the same office?
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Hey there,
I am self-employed and I just moved into a new office for work. I upload and download to an FTP via Fetch all day long. I am using the same equipment and everything as in my old location. In my new office, the internet is supposedly a better connection. Web pages and non-Fetch related downloads seem to work great.
Here's the thing: My uploads to Fetch are MUCH faster than in my old office. However, my Fetch downloads are MUCH, MUCH slower. So slow, in fact, that it is unmanageable for what I do. A file that would usually take a few minutes is estimating around 50 mins.
Can anyone help me with this?
