Keep getting an error message when I try to connect (5 posts)

    I keep getting "error on password: login incorrect" when I try to connect. I've checked with my ISP (Earthlink) to no avail (they say I have everything correct). I've tried re-keying in everything but nothing works. Any ideas on why this is happening?

    Could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents after you get that error?

    The Earthlink server is saying that you're entering the wrong password for the dlyoungblood account. I would show that transcript to Earthlink tech support; they may have a problem with their servers, or the user id or password might not be what you've been lead to believe.

    Thanks for your help, Jim! Went back to Earthlink but this time used the online FAQ pages and found out the folks I had talked to previously gave me the wrong information. So much for using Earthlink's live help. Next time I have a problem with Fetch, think I'll start here first. Thanks again!
