  Just bought a macbook pro with 10.7, and my fetch 5.2 won't load. fair enough, but I went to get the user discount and the form asks for serial number name and serial number. I can get the serial number by launching my old macbook, but have absolutely NO idea what the "serial number name" is. So far all my guesses are wrong. help please?

  Hi,

  If you run Fetch on your old MacBook and choose About Fetch from the Fetch menu you should see both your Serial Number Name and your Serial Number.

  If that doesn't work, fill out the lost serial number form at http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/serial (include your Serial Number in the comment field) and we'll look up the Serial Number Name.

  Thanks for the reply.

  Right after I posted, the light dawned and I realized that "serial number name' meant the name the serial number is registered to.... duh.

  Guess I win today's knucklehead award.

  Thanks, Fed to the Lion. I was a knucklehead, too, so you helped lots! I also cannot get fetch to launch, since I bought my new i-mac. What's up with that?

  Lisa,

  Glad I could help... if stumbling into a hole so others can say, oh look there's a hole there is help.

  As to failure to launch, you got me. Are you running Lion? It's nice but hinky because (I think) they released it a bit prematurely. I had to update the Lion OS on my Macbook right out of the box. Also upgraded my version of Fetch from 5.2 to the latest. Since then everything runs fine. If you haven't already, I'd do both of those things right off. Maybe it will help. Good luck.
