Fetch Softworks is pleased to announce Fetch 5.5.2, the latest version of the original Macintosh file transfer program. Fetch 5.5.2 has been updated to offer full compatibility with the newly released Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
This release improves the Quick Look feature introduced in Fetch 5, and adds two new features: a "View as Text" command and SOCKS support for SFTP connections.
Fetch 5.5.2 is a Universal binary, compatible with Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, including Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and can be downloaded from http://fetchsoftworks.com.
Fetch 5.5.2 is free to try for 15 days, and a single-user license is $29. Upgrades are free for customers who purchased Fetch after January 28, 2009; otherwise, upgrades are $10. Free licenses and upgrades are available for educational and charitable use.
I have the same problem reported earlier by Matt. Any suggestions?
(I just emailed my Fetch Log.
Thanks for sending the Fetch.log file — it looks like your copy of Fetch is missing a file, so you should download a fresh copy from our website.
Many thanks.
I am about to buy a new MAC – my old one is about 5 years old, and the version of Fetch I’ve been using is 3.0.3. I see you have a really NEW one available – how easy it is to navigate, being I’m so used to 3.0.3?
Hi Marilyn,
You should find it even easier to use than 3.0.3. One change you might notice is that pressing Return or Enter no longer acts like a double-click on the selected item (now it lets you rename the selected item). We made that change to be consistent with the Finder.
Overall Fetch remains a solid FTP option with handy features that users have been appreciating for years, and a developer that listens to user comments to make the app better. Even when you do have problems, Fetch offers comprehensive help and active user forums.
