Fetch 5.7.7, the current official release, is not compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina. I am working on Fetch 5.8, a 64-bit Catalina-compatible update, and hope to finish it soon. In the meantime, if you have upgraded to Catalina I would encourage you to sign up for the Fetch 5.8 beta test list at this link:
You will receive a download link to the latest Fetch 5.8 beta version, which will run on Catalina, and you will be notified when there are new beta releases.
If you purchased Fetch 5.7 from the App Store you will need a serial number to run Fetch 5.8 beta releases. You can contact Fetch Support for assistance.
Thanks for letting us know 5.8 will be coming… I’m quite liking Catalina and so far Fetch is the only app I regularly use that isn’t working with it… Reluctantly using Cyberduck until I get the 5.8 beta … I much prefer Fetch… having been using it for over 150 dog years and it’s still the best! 🙂

Is Fetch 6.0 (a trues 64-but version, that is) off the table, or is the Cocoa port the end of the line?
Fetch has been a terrific app that did exactly what I needed it to do, and reliably. Hate to lose it.
Fetch has been my go-to for a long long long time. Found nothing better…ever. Looking forward to the update. Thanks for everything.
And PLEASE never, ever lose the running dog. I play with him, bouncing him all over the screen, while I am waiting. He’s been a constant companion for years and I for one would really miss him if he were lost.

Walter: Fetch 5.8 is a true 64-bit application. I don’t expect major updates beyond 5.8, but I will try to keep it compatible with new OS releases.

I’ve been using Fetch since – forever! Wonderful app and I love the running dog. I was dismayed to find (when starting to upgrade to Catalina) that it wouldn’t work, so have held off on that upgrade for now until a few other apps are sorted, then will go for the 5.8 beta. So glad that you’re doing this.
So happy to hear you are making a Catalina compatible version! I’ve been using Fetch for easily 20 years and was really worried I’d have to move to a new FTP. Thank you!
